Alcohol Facts


Effects on ones MIND: Drinking alcohol can affect your self control. Alcohol depresses the central nervous system and lowers ones in inhibitions.

Effects on ones BODY: Someone who abuses alcohol can do serious damage to the vital organs. Alcohol abuse can cause several types of cancer, gastrointestinal problems such as, diarrhea and ulcers, high blood pressure, malnutrition, sexual dysfunctions and lowered resistance to disease.

Withdrawal Symptoms: Withdrawal from alcohol can be severe and may require hospitalization. Some people going through alcohol withdrawal may experience hallucinations, and DT's (delirium tremes; sudden and severe mental changes ). Symptoms include rapid pulse rate, elevated blood pressure, nausea, sweating, shakiness and temperature elevation.

Loss of balance, dizziness

Slurred words

Nausea

Irritability

Mood swings

Frequent hangovers

Depression, suicidal

Insomnia

Trembling hands
